Making your own spice mix is much healthier than getting pre-packaged mixes from your grocery store. The pre-packaged mix contains added ingredients that are only necessary to enhance shelf life. You can create your own spice mixes right in your kitchen with herbs you have grown in your garden. Below is a list of a few spice mixes I use and love.
Southwestern:
1 Tbs Chili Powder
1 Tsp coriander
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tps onion powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
Taco Seasoning:
1Tbs Chili powder
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Ranch:
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tps salt
1/2 tsp parsley
1 tps onion powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dill
All purpose:
1 Tbs onion powder
2 tps mustard powder
1/2 tps pepper
1 tsp salt
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tps smoked paprika
